Renault has updated its operational capability as the manufacturer looks to gradually resume production at its many European, North African, South American and Asian plants.
Last week, the producer said it had three plants which have restarted in France with a minimum of effective people, because it wanted “to be sure sanitation measures are taken.
The factories are in Cleon [powertrain], Le Mans [chassis] and Choisy [aftersales parts] as France also announced a ramping up of plans more generally to restart the economy from 11 May, subject to distancing and protective measures.
Renault Samsung Motors said it would suspend operations at its sole plant located in the South Korean city of Busan this week for 11 days as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hold back its sales worldwide.
Renault unveiled its latest operational plant update to just-auto from Paris:
- 13 April: Cacia (Portugal)
- 13 April: Avtovaz plants (Togliatti and Izhevsk in Russia)
- 16 April: powertrain plants in Motores and Sevilla (Spain)
- Week 17: at small capacity: Cleon, Le Mans and Choisy (France)
- 21 April: Powertrain and Chassis plant of Pitesti (Romania)
- 27 April: Cormecanica (Chile)
- 27 April: Tangier (Morocco)
- 27 April: powertrain and vehicle plant in Bursa (Turkey)
- 28 April: Renault Moscow plant
- 28 April: Flins (France)
- 28 April: Novo Mesto (Slovenia)
- 29 April: Sandouville (France)

In the Hubei region of China, local authorities are beginning to give authorisation to resume activities. The plant in Shiyan where the Renault City K-ZE (eGT) is manufactured, has received authorisation to restart operations
The Shenyang plant (RBJAC) has gradually resumed its operations as of February 17.
Renault recently announced it would focus on LCV and electric vehicles in China in a preliminary agreement with Dongfeng Motor through which the manufacturer will transfer its shares to Dongfeng.
Dongfeng Renault Automotive Company (DRAC) will stop its Renault brand-related activities.
