The newest SkodaAuto production facility was inaugurated this week. Located at Kvasiny, in the Czech Republic, the factory is the production site for the new Skoda Superb. Production is anticipated at 20,000 units in the first year, with a capacity of 35,000 vehicles a year.

SkodaAuto Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ing. Vratisalv Kulhánek, commented, “Skoda’s six-billion Crown investment makes the Kvasiny plant the most up-to-date in the brand and also offers great potential for the region. We employ nearly 1,400 workers in the Kvasiny facility today, and expect to add 400 additional staff by next summer.”
The new factory, built on the site of earlier Skoda facilities, was built in 14 months and has been manufacturing Superbs since October 2001. Current production is 150 cars a day.
The factory includes a welding shop, a paint shop and the Superb final-assembly hall.
The Kvasiny plant, located in eastern Bohemia, has a tradition of automobile manufacturing by Czech engineers and craftsmen. During 66 years of production from 1934 to 2000, more than 700,000 cars and bodyshells were produced, for a variety of some 50 various models. Between 1947 and 1949, the original Skoda Superb was manufactured at Kvasiny.
