According to Reuters, Volkswagen said it stood to lose between one and two million euros per day as a result of the shutdown at the plant which normally makes about 1,000 Lupo and Golf models each day.
Local media said that the Johnson Controls workers were protesting a decision to close the Belgian plant, Reuters reported.
“We are in touch with Johnson Controls to find a solution (for the supply of car seats),” a Volkswagen spokeswoman told Reuters.
