Pick-up production begins in November at Ssangyong’s Pyungtaek plant and international sales start in the first half of 2003.


The pick-up version has the same nose as the Musso SUV with a double cab and 1.18 metre-long cargo compartment rated at 2,000 litres capacity.


Overall length is 4.93 metres compared with 4.65 metres for the SUV.


The new model has four wheel drive and a 120bhp Mercedes-Benz 2.9-litre turbodiesel engine.

Showing the Musso pick-up first in Brazil is part of a Ssangyong strategy to increase sales in the market.


The company expects to sell 300 vehicles in Brazil this year and about 1,000 in 2003, with the pickup accounting for 60%.
