The Turkish News Digest reports that Renault has selected its plant in Bursa, northwestern Turkey, to be one of the three in which the company will start the production of the new Megane II model in 2003.

Renault hopes to eventually sell 5.5 million units of the Megane II in some 75 countries.

The production of new models has already started in Renault’s plants in France and Spain.

The Bursa plant is operated by Oyak Renault, a joint venture between Renault and Turkish army pension fund OYAK. According to the news report the new model will be offered for sale in Turkey in March 2003.
