The automaker so far has sold 15,000 units since launching the electric van in Europe in 2014.

"The longer range provided by its bigger battery and a full new series of connectivity features makes the 100% electric e-NV200 a real game changer in the LCV market," Nissan Europe said in a statement.

First orders are now being taken for the 'limited edition' 2.Zero, available as either a five-door van or seven-seater Evalia passenger version.

The new battery has extended the claimed driving range up to 280km (NEDC) and, to reflect real life situations more accurately, the upgraded model underwent WLTP tests, establishing a range of around 200km on the combined driving cycle or up to 301km in city conditions on a single charge. This is an increase of about 60% compared to the first generation model.

This was achieved using the same battery technology as the redesigned Leaf just introduced in Europe, and with no increase in the size of the battery itself.

The navigation system has been enhanced compared to the previous generation for improved overall look and feel.
