Adient’s Recaro Automotive Seating product group has secured a contract with MAN Truck & Bus AG to increase annual production at the company’s facility in Skarbimierz, Poland.
Starting in 2020, Recaro Automotive Seating will incrementally begin supplying commercial vehicle seats for the range of MAN models; TGL, TGM, TGS and TGX.

The driver and passenger order will be for around 100,000 original MAN vehicles annually and will result in a production increase to 300,000 seats. The Polish facility will supply MAN facilities in Munich and Steyr.
“We are pleased by the trust MAN Truck & Bus has put in Recaro Automotive Seating by placing this order,” said executive director commercial vehicle seating, David Herberg. “Since the market launch of our new generation of seats in 2008, we have been able to continually grow and expand our portfolio.”
MAN Truck & Bus is bringing the original equipment seat portfolio of Recaro Automotive Seating into the cabins of light, mid-sized and heavy trucks up to a uniform standard. The seats were developed by Recaro for MAN, based on its modular commercial vehicle seat platform.
Recaro Automotive Seating uses a common parts strategy for its seat structures, employing standard parts from Adient. In addition, production facilities in the Polish town of Skarbimierz are set up to handle a high volume of product variants.
