Vehicle sales at Ssangyong Motor rose 8.2% year on year to 11,515 units in July boosted by robust exports, the South Korean carmaker said on Friday, according to Dow Jones.

Ssangyong Motor’s exports more than doubled to 1,153 units last month from 544 units a year ago, while local sales climbed 2.6% on year to 10,362 units, the company said in a statement cited by the news agency.

Dow Jones said Ssangyong sales fell month on month by 8.7% in July while domestic sales fell 4.5% and exports by 34.6%.

In the first seven months, Ssangyong Motor’s car sales dropped 0.6% year on year to 91,846 units while domestic sales fell 3% to 83,120 and exports surged 30% to 8,726, the Dow Jones report said.
