It said "robust" customer feedback and demand for the European in-car delivery and US mobile fuel and wash services was encouraging further development of its connected car platform.

"The exceptional customer satisfaction scores for European in-car delivery and mobile fuel and wash services tells us that our connected car strategy is on the right track," said connectivity services chief Anders Tylman-Mikiewicz.
"We are continuing to identify the areas where customers can save time or reduce stress and integrate those solutions into our connect car platform."
In-car delivery, where European vehicle owners have groceries and other items delivered to the car's load area, has been operating since 2015 with 95% of first time customers recommending the service to others.
Volvo claims to be the first automaker to offer in-car delivery services and said the programme continues to grow. Additional partners, services and countries are being added soon in this third year of operation.

By GlobalDataIn the US, a mobile service provides on-demand refueling and car wash services via a mobile app using digital key technology in San Francisco and Seattle. The automaker said the service had grown consistently since starting early in 2017. The vehicle can automatically order fuel delivery when the fuel gauge reaches a certain level or customers can schedule regular topping up at a specific time and place.
The automaker claims customer satisfaction is very high with some users relying on the program for all fuel needs.
It plans to expand the On Call platform.
