Cinemo, which specialises in automotive multimedia playback, streaming, media management and connectivity middleware, and Parrot Faurecia Automotive, a supplier of infotainment and connectivity systems, announced they are working together on a new rear seat entertainment (RSE) project for an unnamed automaker.
Cinemo is providing its iOS and Android SDKs to enable RSE features on CE devices, extending a collaboration with Parrot Faurecia Automotive that first started in 2013 with the development of premium infotainment.

QUBE snapshot:
- Connected vehicle technology (CVT) encompasses a broad spectrum of overlapping industry developments from internet-enhanced infotainment, to advanced ADAS, to autonomous vehicles and associated mobility apps for the wider mobility value chain.
- The auto sector is traditionally regarded as a closed shop, entry barriers are high due to capital intensity, but CVT has seen a broad array of new suppliers (and OEMs) enter the arena due to increased reliance on electronics and software which are not auto core competencies.
- Partnerships between OEMs and new technology companies are increasing to reduce risk for OEMs and also to provide scalable future-proofed solutions.
