Juergen Rittersberger (46), formerly general secretary and vice president corporate development at Porsche AG, has been named general secretary and senior vice president group strategy at Volkswagen AG effective 1 September, 2018. He replaces Thomas Sedran, who becomes CEO of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand on the same date.

Rittersberger began his career at Porsche in 2002, initially working in strategic projects and then in investment management. He was named general secretary and VP corporate development in 2010. He became a general representative at the end of 2015.
