Sogefi has developed a new plastic diesel fuel filter module for PSA new generation 1.5 litres HDi engines.
The product includes a water level sensor and fuel heater to guarantee starting on the coldest mornings, with the body made entirely of plastic and, in contrast to metal, affording improved resistance to corrosion from biofuel. The metal-free element can be completely incinerated after use.

Sogefi’s Chevron-pleated media removes particles larger than 4µm, ensuring long life of the high pressure pump and the injectors, while Diesel3Tech offers cwater separation to better protect the fuel injection system against corrosion.
The new 1.5 litre HDi diesel engine is 61 cc smaller than the 1.6-litre unit it replaces. This is a new engine, never used in PSA Group before, with its four valves per cylinder head configuration helping deliver more power.
Sogefi maintains smaller capacity and new combustion system enhance fuel economy by roughly 5%. The engine, is compliant with ‘Euro-6c’ legislation, and will conform to 2020 regulations for the emissions of NOx.
“Diesel3Tech filter technology meets the challenges raised by new fuels based on ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) and first generation bio-diesel fuels – the so-called fatty acid methyl esters (FAME), in eliminating increased amounts of emulsified water; which could risk to damage modern, high-pressure injection systems,” said a Sogefi statement.

Starting with the 1.5 litre HDi new generation on the 2017 Peugeot 508, 5008 and 208s, the module is mounted also on Citroen C3, C4 and Opel/Vauxhall Crossland X models.
