Arman moved from Denso where he headed petrol fuel system R&D following earlier experience with on and off highway diesel applications.

David Woolley, CEO of Concentric, said, "I am confident that working collaboratively with our leadership, our engineering teams and our customers, Arman and his advanced R&D team will further develop our future technology roadmap successfully."

Concentric specialises in flow control and fluid power and is a supplier to manufacturers of trucks, agricultural machinery, industrial applications and construction equipment. The company has factories in the UK, USA, Germany, Sweden, India, China and Argentina.

Last May it said it had received an order from a global OEM of heavy trucks and buses to produce electric oil pumps for hybrid applications.

Production would start in the second half of 2018 and was expected to generate revenue of around SEK38m (EUR4m; US$4.3m) across Europe over an eight year period, reaching volume of 8,000 annually in 2026.
