Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said June was a record-setting month for its Jeep brand in the EMEA region after 12,300 units were sold (up 11.5%), marking the 32nd consecutive month of year over year growth.

Record monthly sales were also booked in Germany (1,684 units, +25.6%) and France (1,226 units, +5.9%).

Jeep sales in Europe alone were up 16.2% to 9,883 units, also a record June result and also a 32nd consecutive month of gains.

In the second quarter, a record was set in Europe, where the brand sold 28,698 units and grew 22.7%. Best quarter performance was also recorded in the UK (3,854, + 46.4%), France (3,212, +13%) and Spain (2,088, +55.6%).

In the first half of 2016, 55,171 Jeeps were sold in Europe, a 22.7% growth.

This compared with ACEA data showing new car sales across the EU rose 9.4% in the first half of the year as demand continued to recover, helped by a growing regional economy.

At the product line, level, with 7,700 units shifted in June, the (Italian-built) Renegade achieved its best quarter since its launch in EMEA, remaining Jeep's top-selling model with 62.4% of brand region volume. The compact SUV also registered its best quarter since launch in Europe, the UK, Spain and Austria.

During the first six months, 40,571 Renegades were sold in Europe, a 46.6% increase versus the same period in 2015. Its top markets were Italy (18,756 units), the UK (5,773) and France (4,838).
