“Some of the advanced features in production today are designs that improve the comfort and handling characteristics of the vehicle, reduce mass and therefore fuel consumption and emission [s],” said a BWI statement.

“Specialised valving design families enable each vehicle manufacturer to tune their struts and shock absorbers to achieve the particular ride and handling behaviour that matches their brand character.”

The plant is scheduled to start production in January of 2017, adding 300-plus jobs in the Cheb area, close to Germany.

BWI Group is a chassis supplier which designs and manufactures brake and suspension systems for the global transportation market.
