The supervisory board of Porsche has appointed Oliver Blume chairman of the executive board effective immediately. He replaces Matthias Müller, now chairman of the board of management of Volkswagen group.

Since the beginning of 2013, Blume has been a member of the Porsche executive board responsible for production and logistics. Another new appointee is Detlev von Platen who will be a member of the Porsche executive board for sales and marketing. Von Platen comes to Zuffenhausen from the US where he was head of Porsche Cars North America for just over seven years. He takes up his his new post on 1 November. On the same date, his predecessor, Bernhard Maier, will become chairman of the board of management of Škoda, based in the Czech Republic.

The supervisory board also appointed executive board member for finance, Lutz Meschke, as the deputy chairman of the executive board. Previous deputy chairman Thomas Edig has left to become board member for human resources at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
