Samsung SDI has held the completion ceremony for its electric vehicle battery plant at Xi’ian in Shaanxi Province, China, with the US$600m investment targeting US$1bn in sales by 2020.

The company has finalised battery supply agreements with 10 local and commercial vehicle companies. Some of these include Yutong, the leader of China’s bus industry and Foton in the truck sector,
