Asahi Glass' net sales for the nine months ended 30 September 2015 were down 0.5% to JPY989.6bn (US$8.20bn) compared with JPY994.2bn in the same period a year ago. Operating profit was up 20.1% to JPY51.01bn compared with JPY42.5bn.

Profit before tax increased to JPY70.25bn compared with JPY26.7bn. Profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent increased to JPY42.7bn compared with JPY8.41bn in the year ago period.

For full year 2015 (1 January to 31 December 2015) the glass maker forecast net sales of JPY1.35 trillion, operating profit JPY70bn, profit before tax JPY73bn and profit attributable to owners of the parent JPY40bn.
