Toyota Motor likely will agree to its labour union’s request for bonus payments totaling 6.8 times monthly wages in light of the strong earnings projected for fiscal 2013, a media report said.

The Nikkei business daily noted Toyota was on track for its first record parent company-only operating profit in seven years for the 2013/4 fiscal year ending on 31 March. The bonus amount, to be decided in this spring’s annual pay negotiations, is certain to exceed the JPY2.05m (US$19,992) average for last year, the paper said.
