Honda will start manufacturing its Fit (Jazz) model at all three of its Japanese domestic assembly sites, increasing daily output by some 20% to 1,200 units, as it reports strong orders for the recently renewed third generation model.
Honda makes the car at its Suzuka, Mie Prefecture, and Yorii, Saitama Prefecture, facilities with the Sayama plant, also in Saitama, starting production in May or June, Nikkei reported.

The Nikkei report noted that the Sayama plant is equipped to produce multiple types of vehicles, including minivans and sedans, and has surplus capacity. Honda will add the Fit hybrid to the facility’s production range.
The Sayama plant will likely produce around 200 Fits a day. The combined output of the Fit at the three plants will come to account for 30% of Honda’s total auto production in Japan, Nikkei said.
