Model S cars can also be recharged at public EV charging stations through the IEC 62196 standard connector. The same connector as EU-delivered cars is compatible with three- and single-phase power, and the vehicle’s onboard charger is matched with a bundled 40-amp wall charger.
In early 2015, an adapter will be available for any Australian charging station that does not use the IEC 62196 standard.
