Nissan’s US unit has announced a recall of a small number of locally made 2014 Rogue crossovers, a model line about to be launched in the UK and Europe as the (Japan-assembled) redesigned X-Trail.
Nissan said 1,644 vehicles manufactured between 10 and 17 January 2014 may have an incorrect bolt connecting the intermediate shaft to the upper steering assembly.

Incorrect bolts could loosen and fall out resulting in a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall is expected to begin by the end of June.
The US Rogue was first made at Nissan’s Smyrna plant in Tennessee. It will eventually be assembled in nine factories worldwide.
