Audi has plans for several e-cars but the number or the scale of production is not yet known.

According to a company source, Audi is planning an electric version of the Q8 SUV. For any future electric model that it develops, it has set a range target of about 400km.

Development chief Ulrich Hackenberg said: “Electric mobility is a key focus of our development strategy. We are ideally prepared for the future with our strategic roadmap and a well-filled development pipeline.”

The company is upgrading a production platform named MLB which will help cut costs for electric cars.
