Price cuts of between 15000 to 18,000 rupees last month have boosted sales of India’s most popular car, the Suzuki Alto-based Maruti 800, by about 30% in August, the manufacturer claims.
A Maruti spokesman said the 800 expects to clock over 12,000 sales this month.
A new limited edition model is being introduced to maintain the momentun, the spokesman said.
