François Goupil de Bouillé is the new head of global operations at Nissan Motor luxury car unit Infiniti.

The French national, a 30-year industry veteran who has worked at Ford and Nissan, took up his new role on 1 March but the appointment was only announced today.

He heads sales, aftersales, dealer development and customer care business worldwide and also the Asia/Oceania region. He is based in Hong Kong and reports to president Johan de Nysschen.

Goupil de Bouillé previously headed Nissan’s east region in charge of Russia and Ukraine, the automaker’s largest growth markets in recent years.

Nissan tripled annual sales in Russia from 50,000 to 150,000 on his watch.
