The Volkswagen Group is reshuffling the senior management of SEAT, by appointing Jürgen Stackmann as the new division’s new chairman as at 1 May. James Muir, the incumbent, will assume a senior management function within the Volkswagen Group and will report direct to the Board of Management.

Stackmann, who holds a degree in business administration, began his professional career with Ford in 1989, where he held various posts in Germany and the UK, including Marketing Director for German plants, vice president of Marketing at Ford of Europe in London and finally general manager of Sales and Marketing for German plants.

Having joined the Volkswagen Group in 2010, initially holding responsibility for Sales and Marketing at Škoda Auto, Jürgen Stackmann went on to take charge of Marketing at the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand in September 2012.

James Muir has been chairman of SEAT since September 2009. Further specifics of his next role within the Group are awaited.
