Magna International said its Cosma International operating unit was one of eight suppliers which received a BMW Supplier Innovation Award. It was recognised for a lightweight, high-voltage battery housing made of die-cast aluminum made in Germany by Magna BDW technologies.
Cosma was able to combine multiple, complex functions within a single component, eliminating steps in the manufacturing process and reducing weight substantially.
