American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) (NYSE: AXL – news) has announced that it has secured the contract to supply driveline systems for a new, next-generation four-wheel-drive vehicle of a major North American auto manufacturer. The contract is the company’s first major contract to supply driveline systems for this vehicle.

AAM will provide front and rear axle assemblies and propshafts for the new vehicle. The driveline system will incorporate unique AAM technologies that provide enhanced traction, stability and handling. No more details are available at this time, per the customer’s request.
