Topy Industries is establishing a subsidiary company in Mexico and plans a factory to make passenger car steel wheels in a 75-25 joint venture with MW Italia.

Car production in Mexico is expected to expand steadily in the mid to long term due to increases in exports to North and South America and new players such as Audi and Mazda. Topy’s main customers are Japanese and American automakers.

Topy already makes wheels in Japan, the US and China. Orders for Mexico were processed in Japan and supplied from the US.

The factory will be built in the Santa Fe Industrial Park in Silao, Guanajuato state with a capital spend of about US$13m. It will initially employ 60.
