Škoda has started production of the updated Superb saloon and combi (wagon) at its Kvasiny plant after modernising and expanding the lines for its flagship model ahead of launch in June.
“We have once again achieved a success in production engineering,” claimed production and logistics Michael Oeljeklaus. “The whole team from production, planning, tool construction and logistics have done a fantastic job coming together to work on the fourth start of production this year alone.”

Assembly and body shops have new equipment and tools and logistics improved: axles are now being delivered directly to the production lines ‘just-in-Sequence’. New test rigs aid final assembly, including one for vehicle geometry.
Kvasiny is one of three Škoda production facilities in the Czech Republic, where about 4,500 people are employed. It also builds the Roomster and Yeti and shipped 153,700 vehicles in 2012.
A new logistics hall and assembly line were built for the Roomster last January. A new chassis production hall is planned for later this year.
