It also exported 738 units.

Honda recently dumped the Civic from its Indian line but cited rising demand for the Brio hatchback and its new Amaze sedan spin-off.

Sales and marketing chief Jnaneswar Sen said: “We expanded our operating universe with the new Honda Amaze which continues to receive great response from the first time buyers and consumers looking for a family car.”

Fiscal year sales to date were 19,830 units, up 14% year on year.
