Shanghai GM’s domestic sales rose 18.4% from May 2012 to 117,381 units. SAIC-GM-Wuling boosted volume 2.1% to 130,462 vehicles and FAW-GM sales rose 25.9% to 4,727.

Buick volume was up 22.7% to 63,007 units in May with Excelle XT and GT volume growing 36.9% to 16,410 units.

Chevrolet sales in China were up 4.1% to 50,531 units.

Cadillac sales, from a low base, were up 74.3% to 3,843 units.

Wuling sales rose 1.7% year on year in May to 121,756 units. The new, low cost, Baojun brand saw sales up 73.7%, again from a low launch base, to 8,706.

For the first five months of 2013, GM and joint ventures sold a record 1,331,185 vehicles in China, up 10.6% year on year. Shanghai GM’s sales in China rose 17.1% to 620,968 units, SAIC-GM-Wuling’s domestic sales grew 5.8% to 682,354 units and FAW-GM’s China sales were up 2.2% to 26,380 vehicles.
