James Muir, chairman of Volkswagen Group’s SEAT division from September 2009, is taking up a global sales roles within the group replacing Andreas Offermann who moves to head up sales and marketing at the Spanish unit.
Muir’s new role will be the global coordination of the group’s national sales companies, a post held by Offermann since 2011. Offermann was previously responsible for sales at Porsche. At SEAT, he succeeds Paul Sevin, 62, who will continue to work for the group as a consultant.
In his new position, Muir, 54, reports direct to Christian Klingler, VW head of sales and marketing.
In other changes, VW has announced that Lars Himmer, 44, has been appointed head of group sales strategy and projects, succeeding Johannes Thammer, 57, who has been managing director of Audi Volkswagen Korea since December 2012.
