AvtoVAZ says it saw sales rise 4.7% in October to 40,207, with nearly 38,000 sold in Russia, up 3.5% compared to September.
Lada sales grew 0.8% in October – the first time in 19 months the iconic Russian brand has seen growth in its domestic market.

Shipments for export also increased in October by 28.8%, comprising 2,419 Lada models.
For the ten months of this year, AvtoVAZ sold 362,644 Lada vehicles, with 321,590 of these in Russia and 41,054 being exported.
News of improved performance from AvtoVAZ comes as Russia is implementing its recycling or scrappage scheme, aimed at halting the precipitous slide in vehicle sales, with a suggestion the plan could be extended past its initial New Year’s Eve deadline.
Estimates for the recycling scheme put the boost at up to 170,000 vehicles.
