Japan’s Toyo Tire & Rubber has completed the establishment of a wholly-owned sales subsidiary in Thailand, called Toyo Tire (Thailand), which will help drive dealer expansion and sales growth in the country.
TTT has a registered capital of THB100m to fund its expansion. It plans to double the number of outlets selling its tyres in the country to 500 by 2015.

TTT sources tyres from Japan and from its newly built US$260m factory in Perak, Malaysia, which began operations in May of this year. They are sold through its authorised importer and distributor Khow Inter Business which is controlled by the Shuntai group.
The company plans to sell up to 180,000 replacement tyres in Thailand in 2013, despite an expected drop in the overall replacement tyre demand this year, rising to 400,000 units in 2014 and 600,000 in 2015.
