Suzuki expects car sales in Russia flat year on year at 33,000 units in 2013, Koichi Takakura, general director of Suzuki Motor Rus, told reporters.

Takakura said the situation there is not easy but Suzuki is committed to selling a minimum of 30,000 cars.

Its market share is 1.4%. Takakura said the company intends to maintain that this year.

First half sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles fell 6% to 1.333m, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said on 8 July.

It expects sales to decrease 5% to 2.8 m units in the full year.
