New vehicle sales in Malaysia fell by 5.3% to 53,631 units in June, from 56,650 units a year earlier, according to data released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).

This followed a 15% sales decline in May with consumer uncertainty during the general election period and expectations of broad-based, government-induced vehicle price cuts holding back sales.
