A left hand drive Vento for the Middle East was the 300,000th car produced at Volkswagen India’s Pune plant.
Technical director Andreas Lauenroth said: “It is a double celebration for Volkswagen India. We have achieved a new milestone with 3,00,000 cars being produced at our Pune facility. Also, the Vento is a left-hand drive car for export which highlights the acceptance of an Indian product worldwide.”

The plant now exports cars to 30 countries in Asia and Africa.
Construction began in 2007, was completed in a record time of 17 months and the first car rolled out in May 2009.
