In order to cut these 90 jobs, the company has invited the staff to opt for voluntary redundancy.
Gerard Coyne, of the union Unite, said, “Initially the company is seeking voluntary redundancies but the reality is with this size of reductions is that it’s hard to see it will be achieved purely by volunteers.”
Peugeot said its parts and logistics base in Torrington Avenue, Tile Hill, will not be affected by the staff cuts which are part of its Europe-wide restructuring actions.
