Malaysia’s Naza Group plans to establish new joint ventures in Thailand and Brunei to distribute Citroen vehicles, as part of its broader regional expansion plans. 

The French car company appointed Naza as its exclusive distributor in Malaysia at the beginning of 2013 and the agreement has since been broadened to include other markets in South-east Asia.

Naza Group began vehicle distribution in the late 1990s, when it was awarded a licence by Kia Motors of South Korea. The group became the exclusive Malaysian distributor for Peugeot vehicles in 2008, followed by Chevrolet in 2010. 

Naza is the distributor for prestigious brands such as Ferrari, Maserati and Brabus, and also has Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

A new Citroen distributor is expected to be established in Brunei by December, with operations in Thailand expected to start up in the first quarter of 2014. Its key models in Malaysia are the DS4 and DS5.
