Wang Xiaoqiu has been named president of Shanghai-GM, effective 13 August. He succeeds Ye Yongming, who has left the GM-SAIC joint venture.
Wang, who was born in 1964, began his automotive industry career in 1988. He most recently served as president of Shanghai Diesel Engine from November 2009.

Among his earlier positions were vice president of SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle; general manager of Shanghai Auto Manufacturing; vice president of Shanghai Motor; vice president of Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Shanghai Nonferrous Components; deputy director of the Shanghai Auto Industry Technical Centre; and deputy director of the Shanghai Auto Industry Quality Supervision Centre.
