The Renault group said it was making progress, in terms of both market share and volume, in a falling French market, boosting its PC/LCV market share by three points to 26.7 %. PC market share rose 3.2 points to 25.6%.

As in previous months, the new Clio was the overall best seller in August.
Dacia posted PC market share of 6.6%, a rise of 0.4 points. The brand ranks fifth overall and third on the consumer market.

Renault

In the PC market, the brand increased market share by 2.8 points to 19%. Sales volumes rose 4.6% in a market that contracted 10.9%. Almost five months after launch, the Captur remains the leader in the small crossover segment.

Twingo, Clio, Mégane and Scénic are all leaders in their respective segments.
In the LCV market, the brand increased market share by one point to 30.5% in a market experiencing a historic low, with a drop of 5.8%.

Dacia

Dacia is reaping the benefits of the success of the new Sandero, the best-selling vehicle on the consumer market in August.

Renault’s French market chief Bernard Cambier said: “We can confirm, as in previous months, that we are on track with our market plan, buoyed by the success of our new Renault and Dacia models.”
