Thailand’s CS Rubber Industry plans to spend THB500m to increase its annual production capacity of rubber compounds to 5,000 tonnes in the next year, as it looks to supply the growing number of Chinese automotive manufacturers based in Thailand.
The Thai-Taiwanese joint venture currently has a production capacity of 1,200 tonnes. It has already held discussions with Chinese companies expanding in Thailand, including SAIC Motor, Great Wall Motors and Shandong Linglong Tyre.
Eventually, CS Rubber hopes to supply the mainland China operations of these companies from Thailand.
