GKN Driveline has said that it continues its expansion in China with a ground breaking for the expansion of its plant in Chongqing.

GKN Chongqing Driveshaft (GDC) is investing $43.9 million to expand the facility which will cover an area of nearly 12,000 square metres when construction completes in 2014. The expansion of the plant will allow localisation of CVJ System production for the many OEMs in the Chongqing area. Production is expected to start in July 2014 and upon completion the plant will have capacity of over one million vehicle sets per year.
