General Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroën said on Tuesday (1 October) they will build B-MPVs for both companies’ brands at the GM España plant in Zaragoza, Spain. The plant currently builds the five-door Opel Corsa line and variants and will soon add the Mokka small SUV currently imported from Korea.

As previously announced, the GM-PSA alliance is developing a new generation of B-segment MPVs based on a PSA Peugeot Citroën platform. This programme is one of three projects agreed by both partners in December 2012.

Opel in Ruesselsheim will head engineering while PSA will supply powertrains. The first vehicles will go on sale late in 2016.
