Nissan president Carlos Ghosn has said in an interview with French business daily La Tribune that the company expects stronger sales this year than in a decade. Ghosn said he sees 2003 as a “year of strong growth for Nissan.”

He also said the company expects to sell more than three million cars in 2003 for the first time in a decade. He expects to see Nissan’s debt level reduced as a result.

Earlier this week, Ghosn said the war in Iraq meant demand for cars in the United States and Europe in fiscal 2003-04 could be lower than previously thought.
