Hindustan Motors will shut down its car manufacturing plant in Uttarpara, West Bengal, PTI reported.
The company made the decision due to low demand for the Ambassador car and lack of capital.

Of the 2,300 workers and employees at the plant, only 925 were willing to accept voluntary redundancy, the report said.
