Toyota Motor Europe boosted third quarter sales 5% to 216,837 Toyota and Lexus vehicles and said its market share passed the 5% mark for the first time in four years.
Sales of Toyota hybrids rose 20% to 32,746 units in the third quarter and accounted for 18% of TME sales during the first nine months of the year.

Sales and marketing chief Daniele Schillaci said: “This puts us on track to deliver more vehicles in Europe in 2013 versus last year which represents a good performance given the overall market decline.”
A boost from the UK-built Auris Touring Sports [wagon] spurred sales of the C-segment model line which rose 66% in the third quarter to 33,348 units.
Corolla [sedan] Q3 sales rose 24% to 20,511 units.
Verso volume rose 17% to 9,887 units. RAV4 third quarter sales rose 55% to 24,505 units.
During the first nine months of 2013, Toyota sold 598,287 vehicles in Europe.
Lexus sales improved 2% to 11,984 units in Q3 following the launch of the redesigned IS range.
The newly introduced hybrid IS300h was particularly popular, accounting for about 80% of third quarter IS sales of 3,474 units.
Year to date sales of the ES increased fivefold to 2,071 units and LS volume tripled to 811 units.
Lexus sold 31,593 units in Europe in the first nine months.
Sales of Toyota and Lexus hybrids rose 47% to 115,032 YTD. Nearly 20% of TME’s volume in the nine month period were hybrids.
