Malaysian CKD assembler Tan Chong Motor Holdings’ Vietnam subsidiary has been directed to pay US$16.98m (RM54 million) in additional import duty for importing completely knocked down parts and kits from 2010 to 2012.

According to a media report published in Malaysia, Tan Chong said the head of the Hanoi processing and investment customs branch stated Nissan Vietnam had to pay the additional duty.
