Daihatsu’s global production hit a record high for the first half of the 2013 business year led by strong demand in southeast Asia.
April to September production totalled 616,041 vehicles, up 1.8% from a year earlier, as output in Indonesia and Malaysia increased. Overseas production reached 236,415 vehicles, up 14.5%, boosted by the launch in September of the Ayla for Indonesia.

However, domestic production fell 8% to 379,626 units.
